Texas State University Partnership (PREM)

On September 1st, 2012, the Research Triangle MRSEC began a partnership with Texas State University- San Marcos. The initiative is funded by the National Science Foundation's Partnerships for Research and Education in Materials (PREM) program and seeks to broaden participation and increase diversity in materials research and education.

The central goal of Duke University / Texas State University - San Marcos PREM: Interfaces in Materials, is to advance minority participation through integration of research with innovative education and outreach programs.

Dr. William Brittain serves as Principal Investigator for Texas State and is joined by nine other faculty members from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry - Dr. Gary Beall, Dr. Tania Betancourt, Dr. Chad Booth, Dr. Jennifer Irvin, Dr. Benjamin Martin, Dr. Xiaopeng Li, Dr. Steve Whitten, Dr. Christopher Rhodes, and Dr. Shannon Weigum.
