Free Bus Options
The Robertson Scholar bus is a free bus that runs between Duke and UNC every 30 minutes.
NC Central University and Duke University students and faculty can use the Bull City Connector and may ride DATA Route 5 fare-free between NCCU campus and Durham Station (University ID required).
The Triangle Transit Authority operates the Durham-Raleigh Express (DRX) and the Chapel-Hill Raleigh Express (CRX) routes that connect Duke and NCSU, and UNC and NCSU. Both directions run 5-6 times each way in the mornings & evenings. The busses offer free WIFI and travel takes about 45 minutes. Use of the express bus service requires a Go-Pass which is available free or at reduced cost from your home institution’s parking & transportation office.The DRX schedule can be found here.
Most students are eligible for a free “go-pass” that allows them to utilize all regional buses free of charge. Passes may be obtained from the parking & transportation offices of the student’s home institution.
