Miquella (Kelly) G. Chavez, Executive Director

Kelly joined the Research Triangle MRSEC (RT-MRSEC) in Fall 2015 and oversees the overall technical operation of the Center. She works with the steering and education committee in expanding education initiatives & PREM collaobrations; provides proposal and annual report coordination / oversight, as well as attends national meetings on behalf of RT-MRSEC. Kelly has a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center and was an IRACDA Postdoctoral Scholar in Bioengineering at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), co-mentored by Dr. Tejal Desai and Dr. Ophir Klein.

Catherine Reyes, Education, Outreach and Communications Coordinator

Catherine joined the RT-MRSEC in August 2012 to manage and develop our outreach & education activities, including our REU and PREM programs. She is dedicated to supporting educational initiatives and increasing diversity in STEM. In addition, Catherine provides scientific writing expertise and contributes to annual report editing and proposal / grant support. Catherine has a Ph.D. in Bioengineering & Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Amy Alexander, Administrative Assistant & Outreach Coordinator

Amy joined the RT-MRSEC in August 2012 and coordinates center activities for NCSU faculty & students, as well as the IRG1 research group. Amy supports our outreach & education activities across the Triangle, including our Industry Poster Session and IRTG activities with TU Berlin. Amy has a degree in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Katie Krieger, Administrative & Outreach Coordinator

Katie joined the RT-MRSEC in April 2014 and oversees administrative operations and financial support for faculty, staff, leadership & students. She also coordinates center seminars, socials, meetings; supports leadership; non-technical website updates, social media posts, conference travel and IRG2 meeting support. Katie has a Masters in Public Administration from the University of New Mexico.
